Cricket stumps, also known as cricket wickets, comprise of 3 vertical posts whose role is to support the two bails. Each of the cricket stumps has a name, Off stump, Middle stump and Leg stump. Historically cricket wickets had only two stumps and one bail and looked like a gate hence the origin of the word is derived from “wicket” meaning a small gate.
Cricket stumps have changed over time and various forms of cricket stumps can now be found. The usual would be three cricket stumps that you pushed into the ground. Now you can find Springback Cricket Stumps that work on a hinge and plate and literally spring back when hit. Cricket stumps can now be found in aluminium rather than wood although this is frowned upon by traditionalists of the game.
The below cricket stumps are also contained in the cricket accessories section.
